Teaching Excellence
I have been engaged in classroom training and one-on-one instruction for over 20 years.  My own education included study in how people think and learn and I enjoy figuring out the best way to get complex ideas into people’s heads.  I truly believe that effective learning can be fun.

When I finally started following my lifelong dream of learning to fly, it became hard to get excited about teaching anything else.  I finally quit the corporate world to focus instead on aviation, and now have both an Advanced Ground Instructor and a Flight Instructor certificates.  I love flying and love to teach about flying.

A Path Through Complexity
Be advised, aviation training covers a lot of information.  There were a few times during my early training when I was overwhelmed with all the knowledge.  It did not help that flight instructors sometimes just dump information on their students.  Which ideas are most important?  What things should you learn first?  There’s a better way.

As your instructor, I will show you a path through all of that complexity, building a foundation one idea at a time.  At every step, you will feel confident that you are truly learning the information and that you are on the right path to your Private Pilot License.

What Students Have Said about Dan
"I attended the 12-week Private Pilot Ground School and was extremely pleased with Dan’s instruction style.  At the end of the course, I was well prepared to pass the written FAA exam.  I not only did well on the exam, but feel confident that I know how to apply the specifics for weight and balance and cross county planning!  Dan’s style is engaging, focused and motivating!"  -  Sharon B.

"I have found ground school to be very helpful and enjoyable.  It would be important for other students to see this benefit as they are trying to decide between gound school and self-study computer programs.  I sense that the computer-based programs are focused mainly on passing the FAA written exam vs. providing the knowledge necessary to be an proficient and safe pilot.  Your course seems to accomplish both nicely.  Relative to all the other outrageous costs of flying, ground school is the bargain of the century!"  -  Bill B.
